my hair is sooooooooo dull, and going into junior high is a big deal, how can i get it to look better and do it not spending alot of money?HELP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hmmm well there are a few options actually:

- highlights ~ they can do so much for a persons hair. if you get different colors like two colors, they add so much demesion to a persons hair and it can add the illusion of volume as well as even keep your hair from looking greasy as fast as usual.

- cut it~ if you want to cut it off, pick a cute short cut...itd be different than your long hair and think of it this way...its hair, it will grow back if you dont like it that much.

one tip i have for you, dont do anything real drastic...like color or nething..whenever i was in the 8th grade, i had DARK brown hair and i went and had it bleached out really BLONDE. the bleach stripped all the dark color out of my hair and it literally took me years to get a dark brown color to hold in my hair because it had nothing to hold too, it just faded out. so dont go and do anything like that. learn from my mistake haha! good luck - just have fun with it!

a little color goes a long way.... maybe something with a little blond or red. you can also try contacting a beauty college and see if they need any models for the student finals. typically you talk with the student ahead of time and agree to what they are going to do and I believe its free to you as you are basically their model. you also might find a friend or someone who maybe likes doing hair?! and let them work on your hair... braids... updos...curls....

I used Sun-In spray that gave my hair some dimension. I have black hair, and it turned my hair color from red to some light brown highlights. It has lemon in it, so will lighten your hair color wherever you want to spray. All you need to do is to lay out in the sun for your hair to lighten or you can use a blowdryer.

Firstly, get an AWESOME cut. Find someone with a really amazing haircut, and ask them who their stylist is. Price SHOULD NOT be an issue when you're getting your hair cut - think of it this way: a really good cut is, say, $50. It'll last you a few months. It works out to like, fifty cents per "wear".

Secondly, La Coupe and TreSemme products are my cheap favorites. Pantene is good as well, but it just doesn't have the same awesome scent. (La Coupe, Sily and Straight or something like that, has an AMAZING citrus scent. My friends all think I wear perfume!)

And thirdly. A shine and straighten spray does WONDERS. High-end, great-smelling ones mean that, well, they smell great. If you wear perfume, start using an awesome shine-spray and think of it as a perfume perchace. If you don't want to spend that much, buy a drugstore-brand. They work almost as well, but you'll just have to tolerate the smell.

i have frizzy hair when i leave it wet. i have to straighten it everyday plus i use good shampoo products and good conditioner products. don't cut it short it just goes worse it goes even more frizzy, trust me! the only option to get you hair non frizzy is use really good products and to straighten it (buy the really good ones- they may be expensive but its worth it!). take no notice of the other people who said shave it off, well unless your a boy. also perms are a no-no, you'll get more stick for having a perm then having frizzy hair. plus once you get a perm you can never get rid off it.

have you ever heard of the japenese method of chemically straightening your hair in which it makes your hair permanently straight. however, its a gruelling long process which takes for hours and quite expensive. i hope i have given you some advice for your problem.

p.s. don't get a perm!!! take no notice!!!

If you have long enough hair, get a flat iron. A really good brand is CHI, which you can buy offline or in beauty stores. It's pricey, so you could also try less expensive ones. However, the Chi gives really good results and may be worth it for you. If take the time to straighten your hair with it, it'll last a good few days, and you can simply touch it up. Again, I would need more details about what your hair is actually like, but if it's somewhat long, an iron would help.

Holloween is coming up! and i want to come up with a random hair style which i think nobody has done before. my hair is about 13 inches long. and i want to get a spiked mohawk. i dont like the fanned mohawk, i want mohawks that has big spikes like this right here, please check out the link "http://www.flickr.com/photos/shotliveph... Notice how his spikes are straight!! not a single strand of hair stick out of the spike! i want that too! but instead of shaving both sides of my head, im going to get it braided into cornrows. But i do want that mohawk spiked! did he use a comb? do you need to use a comb to do that kind of mohawk? someone told me about hair paste/spike glue. where can i buy this at? can it be found at walgreens? and which is the best product? i used gel already and it doesnt really work, my hair droops down because of the weight of the gel. any suggestions please?

the best way to get your desired colour would be to go to a hair salon with the box dyes its kinda like russian roulette you never know what the outcome is goin to be. it may be expensive to get it done but you'll get the results you want or they'll fix it until you do. if you get a box dye you'll have no one to blame but yourself. i have brown hair too and i get it done at a salon because if it ever came out green i'd shoot myself.

Mix together 1 cup of plain yogurt and 1/4 lemon juice- apply to dry hair leave on for 30 minutes rinse out and then shampoo and condition as usual. It will lighten your hair about 2-3 shades and really won't damage it because the milk protein in the yogurt.

Ahhhh...experimenting with one's hair can be the best thing you can ever do...or the worst! Now naturally my hair is dark brown too, but in the summer my hair always lightens up...seeing as how it's still winter/soon to be spring..you probably don't want to wait.

You can use hydrogen peroxide, but if you pour it on your head...it's gonna turn orange or worst bleach "WHITE" blonde! Hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent. If you have some facial hair you want to hide then dab some on a cotton ball and rub it on your face, but don't put it in your hair if you want to just lighten it up!

I suggest a Demi-permanent or Semi-permanent Hair Dye they usually last 2-3 months(not including out growth). Go to any store like Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, Target, etc + go to the hair care section and take a look at the different colors. Look at the back of the boxs because it will show you how the color will turn out with dark hair...it may not be what you want so keep looking. Also keep in mind how the color will look with your complexion...it'll help you find the right color before actually using it.

When you buy the color just follow the instructions on the back and then BAM! You'll have the color your were longing for!

Now if you decide to not go through it...there's always the summer. Pour lemon juice on your hair and sit in the sun and tan. Your hair will lighten up. Also when you wash your hair after you use shampoo and conditioner...pour vinegar on your hair and then wash it off...just alittle. Your hair will be lighter in no time. Good luck!

I had the same problem, i brought curling irons and all though it looked good, the curls were shorter than i wanted, so i tried curling larger 'chunks' of hair for a more bouncy curl which looked even better!

Hair mousse is hard to work with, and doesn't always work, so i recommend silk-skin hairspray factor 4.the curls stay in all day and if you then go to bed with curly hair, in the morning there still perfect :)

So I have a Helen of Troy Straightener that works very well, and I pretty much straighten my hair every day.
