well i have a small problem not really a big deal i have been wanting to know how can i make my hair a lighter color wat should i do myself what should i buy or wat im trying and wating my hair color to be like a caramel really light brown color but my har is like dark brown so i dont really want to go to a hair salon cause is way to expensive i rather do it myself!wat do u recoment me????

My hair is like brown I actually got it lighter by accident one way can try is hydrogen porixcide very cheep like 99cents second is lemon juice that lightens colors too hope this helps

the best way to get your desired colour would be to go to a hair salon with the box dyes its kinda like russian roulette you never know what the outcome is goin to be. it may be expensive to get it done but you'll get the results you want or they'll fix it until you do. if you get a box dye you'll have no one to blame but yourself. i have brown hair too and i get it done at a salon because if it ever came out green i'd shoot myself.

you can mix a little lemon juice in brown hair dye, and you can also use the color in soda. caramel #40 if you can.

Mix together 1 cup of plain yogurt and 1/4 lemon juice- apply to dry hair leave on for 30 minutes rinse out and then shampoo and condition as usual. It will lighten your hair about 2-3 shades and really won't damage it because the milk protein in the yogurt.

Ahhhh...experimenting with one's hair can be the best thing you can ever do...or the worst! Now naturally my hair is dark brown too, but in the summer my hair always lightens up...seeing as how it's still winter/soon to be spring..you probably don't want to wait.

You can use hydrogen peroxide, but if you pour it on your head...it's gonna turn orange or worst bleach "WHITE" blonde! Hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent. If you have some facial hair you want to hide then dab some on a cotton ball and rub it on your face, but don't put it in your hair if you want to just lighten it up!

I suggest a Demi-permanent or Semi-permanent Hair Dye they usually last 2-3 months(not including out growth). Go to any store like Walgreens, Walmart, Ulta, Target, etc + go to the hair care section and take a look at the different colors. Look at the back of the boxs because it will show you how the color will turn out with dark hair...it may not be what you want so keep looking. Also keep in mind how the color will look with your complexion...it'll help you find the right color before actually using it.

When you buy the color just follow the instructions on the back and then BAM! You'll have the color your were longing for!

Now if you decide to not go through it...there's always the summer. Pour lemon juice on your hair and sit in the sun and tan. Your hair will lighten up. Also when you wash your hair after you use shampoo and conditioner...pour vinegar on your hair and then wash it off...just alittle. Your hair will be lighter in no time. Good luck!

If youre asking that question my friend go to a hair salon screwing up your hair will not end up being a discount and much more work for the stylist repairing it so either dont touch it or go to the salon...if you have hairdressing schools in your area you could check because it will cost you much less to go there.....
