Very short hair cut question?

I have semi-short hair right now, but i'm thinking of going even shorter. Kind of like Halle Barry short. Problem is, I have kind of a big nose, and worried that it may make it look even bigger. (I get the darn thing from my dad) Does cutting your hair really short make features on your face more prominent? Thanks!!!

It does. I have a big fat nose from my dad as well, but people were so focused on how "brave" I was to go that short (I did shave my head - so a bit shorter) that they didn't say anything about my nose taking over my face.

EDIT: Totally go for it - when I had super-short hair it was amazingly easy to take care of! You sound like the sort of woman that can pull it off, too.

If you want your hair short, go for it! No one's nose is perfect - no one's face is perfect, for that matter. Get a haircut you like and you'll feel awesome about yourself. If it doesn't work out, it'll always grow back, and there are things you can do to make it grow a little faster.

It does but that doesn't necessarily mean that it won't look nice. If you have short hair now, try slicking it back into the style you want just to get a rough idea of how it will look on you.

I have a big nose ..i guess, i mean it's average for a black chick...but my hair is super short and I keep it that way. Everytime I grow my hair out everyone tells me to cut it because I look better with short hair. But I think it's just more my personality than anything; a short spikey, cutesy cut is more 'me'. One thing I do take heed to although is my weight. Short hair on a fat face just makes your head look round I think.

Yes, Short hair definitley brings out your facial features. If you decide to go shorter, get your eyebrows arched and/or add color to your hair. It may help with taking the attention away from your nose.

Honestly it didn't for me. I have a big nose too(from my father) and I chopped my own hair off. MY nose looked slightly smaller. Personally it don't matter Short hair is sexy. Anyways.. sorry. Something doesn't always work for every one but nothing works for no one So there truly isnt a defininte answer...

For some people it may do so but to create the illusion of a smaller nose, accentuate your eyes and your lips. That way the area between the two won't stand out. You can also sweep a blush along the sides of your nose to give a more slimming effect.

Yes! With less in/around your face the face itself is left in the spotlight (that's why it works so well for Halle). But I really wouldn't worry about your nose looking more prominent-your jawline and cheek bones will be brought out, too, and features tend to balance each other. Your face is not disporportionate! I will tell you it can make hard features harder, more chiseled (again why it works for Halle, she has soft features), but short cuts can be wonderfully spunky!
