and it didnt take. my hair is still dead straight. well its not straight it never was. its still my same natually big and wavy mes s it always has been. the only thing it did was give my like 10% more body. i wased 70 buck. why did it not work? i think it was because they shampooed my hair befor hand? or i dont think the lady did it right because the other hir dresser was perming someone else hair and it looked like she was doing way more stuff. the person who was doing my hair didn't usually do it i dont think. i went to fantastic same btw. so if i show there with my uncurly same as was hair can i get my money back? i mean you cant get your money back if you hate your perm, but i dot even have the perm i paid for!! thanks for any advice.

If they didn't do a good job with your hair they should refund the money back or give you a credit. Hairdressers do make mistakes at times. But you shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. Don't wait too long before getting on their case. And let them know that you are not happy at all.

I would get my $ back, if its not really what u wanted. Maybe u should research around for a salon that has more knowledge on how to treat/do exactly what you want done to ur hair. Good luck cuz it could be stressful getting a good beautician.

No, we usually wash hair before it is permed. There are a few possibilities...

1. They used perm rods that were too large for the amount of curl you wanted.

2. They used a perm solution that was not suitable for your hair. (some require heat and some do not and there are different ones for different hair types)

3. If you have a lot of hair, they might not have used enough solution or kept it on long enough.

4. It is important to rinse the hair with water that is fairly hot before applying the neutralizer and equally important that the hair is blotted properly before applying the neutralizer as well.

5. Some medications can also affect the result of your perm as well.

I would go back and discuss that you are unhappy with your perm and see wat the hairdresser suggests. Just be sure not to be accusing or to negative..even though you probably have every right to feel that way...sometimes mistakes happen and sometimes things are just a fluke. Your hairdresser will be on the defensive immediately. Remember you "catch more flies with honey."...yadda yadda..

Shampooing your hair first did not cause the perm to not work. Hair is always shampooed before a perm because perm solution cannot be put on dry hair. Now, as to why it did not take, it could be several things.

1. Improper wrapping. Sections could have been too big.

2. Perm rod size...could have been too big. The amount of curl depends upon the size of the perm rod.

3. Improper application of the perm solution.

4. Improper timing that the solution was on your hair.

5. Improper application of the neutralizer.

6. Improper time the neutralizer was left on your hair.

7. If you shampooed your hair before 48 hairs after the perm, this would cause it to relax.

You should immediately go back to the salon where you got the perm. Ask to talk to the manager or whoever is in charge when you get there. Explain to them that you are not happy with the results of your perm and insist on an explanation as to what went wrong. They should not hesitate to answer your questions. If they do, then insist on them refunding your $70. Be firm but not hateful. If they try to tell you it was because your hair was not suitable for perming, then tell them they are the professionals and if this was the case, you should have been told BEFORE they permed your hair and charged you $70. I am a licensed cosmetologist and I own and operate a salon so I have had experiences of all kinds with perm problems. The sooner you go back to the salon, the better. I never perm hair that is not suitable for a perm so this is never a problem but no one is perfect and if I have a customer that is dissatisfied, I will do everything in my power to remedy the problem, even if it means refunding money. No we always wash hair before it is permed, to get rid of any product build up before we do the perm, but we dnt use conitioner because this acts as a barrier!! So that could be a reason why!! They could have used a perm solution that was not suitable for your hair. They may not have left the neutralizer on for long enough, there could be many different reasons but if yr really not happy then u should go bk and discuss it with them and tell them that yr really not happy with the outcome, try not 2 b rude or agressive because they will immediatley b on the defensive, good luck and i hope they either give u yr money bk or give u a free treatment or something like that!!

You shouldn't wash your hair before hand as the perm will not grip in! You should't wash it fo 2 days after or brush it really hard! YOU SHOULD HAVE USED HAIRSPRAY. ANYWAY PERMS ALWAYS TURN OUT HORRID.
