Need suggestions for a hair dye problem!?

4 months ago i bleached my black hair to dye it brown. my brown roots were 2 inches long %26amp; turned out white as the black turned orange. i was told to rebleach just the orange parts, but the second bleaching barely did anything. i was afraid the difference between the orange and white would show through the light brown dye. it did. it also turned my hair a greenish color. i dyed it a dark brown which was a big mistake as the shade was very close to black. i shampooed heavily and then decided to dye it a red shade. the red faded within 2weeks, so i gave up %26amp; decided to just dye it black once again to stop myself from doing any more damage to my hair.

the PROBLEM is i wish i didnt.. it's been 2 months since i dyed it black %26amp; i have two inch roots again. what can i do to fix it(WITHOUT bleaching or going to a SALON)while minimizing damage AND keeping my roots the same color? I want to grow my hair out back to my natural color but during the wait i dont want black hair. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

make sure you buy hot oil treatments and shampoos and conditioners that help damaged or color treated hair. Do not blow dry or put anymore heat and chemicals on your hair for about a week. Also make sure your hair is moisturized a lot. NEVER EVER DYE your hair Black. that is the worste color to deal with when dying/bleaching.

let your hair try to get healthy for a week and then try redying it. LOERAL Hair dye is the Best. If you do not want to go to a salon ( which is the best salution )... then Loreal would be the best hair dye. When you dye your hair, start with the roots, let sit 5 monutes, then finish the rest.

I am sure you don't want to hear this, but after all you have done to your hair, you really ought to let it be. What is wrong with black hair? I think it is lovely. There is no way to let your hair go back natural without having roots except to dye the whole lot of it black like the roots. If that isn't working, you probably will just have to live with the roots until they are long enough that you can cut off the colored part. Sorry.

yes stop bleaching your hair. if you want to change your color by your self. its best to go slowly. just dye it the color you want each time your roots are showing and your hair will slowly over a year get to the color you want. sorry no quick fix for the mess you created by bleaching. its bad for your scalp to bleach and if you keep dyeing it as often as you said you did your hair will fall out. so go slow.

before i can give you a good answer i need to know what color did you use? or where did you buy it?

what is your natural color--the 2 inch roots?

and what color are wanting to achieve?

you NEED to go to a salon

its not that expensive just to get an all over brown permanent colour - at least a hairdresser would know what htey are doing and it wouldn't end up looking a mess...

you cannot lighten hair without bleaching it so it would be difficult to get your dyed hair the same colour as your roots without it sorry

i know you dont want to re dye your hair

but as you know what colour your natural colour is dye it for the last time the closest colour you can find to your natural colour then grow it out

that way your roots wont stand out as much

At this point i wouldnt touch it, get used to wearing it up in a ponytail. Let the damage work its way out. Then when its all said and done, go to a professional. There is something you can use to strip all the color out of your hair and bring it back to your normal color. But you have to go to a professional and it cost a lot of money to have it done.
